What this page is for
RatioSlate is the workspace for one image that has to survive several frames. You can calculate a ratio, keep a subject in frame, preview TikTok, Reels, Shorts, feed, YouTube, and X crops, then export locally. The dedicated aspect-ratio calculator is a separate page for the math alone.
Quick reference
| Calculate | Width and height to a simplified ratio |
|---|---|
| Reframe | One focus point across every crop |
| Preview | TikTok, Reels, Shorts, feed, YouTube, X |
| Check | Separate safe-zone guides for three vertical apps |
| Export | JPG, PNG, WebP, or a ZIP, in the browser |
Platform data sources
Working presets and safe-zone guidance are checked against official platform documentation. Safe zones remain conservative guides because app UI varies.
Five jobs, one workspace
A ratio by itself does not tell you whether a face survives a 9:16 crop. This page keeps the calculator in the workspace, then asks you to open an image and look at the frames. The focus point is the subject you refuse to lose. Fill crop cuts to the target shape. Fit keeps the whole image and adds margins.
Platform presets are working export sizes, not a promise that every network will display them unchanged. TikTok, Reels, and Shorts share a 1080 × 1920 canvas and do not share a safe-zone guide. Feed is 4:5. YouTube and X are widescreen, at different pixel sizes.
Where to go when you only need the math
If the question is “what ratio is this width and height?”, use the aspect ratio calculator. If the question is “what ratio is this monitor?”, use the screen calculator. If you already know the ratio and need the other pixel side, use the resolution calculator. Those pages answer a narrower question. This page is the place to compare crops.
Examples
A landscape photo for a vertical post
Start here, drop the image, and put the focus point on the subject. Then open the 9:16 previews instead of guessing from a 16:9 original.
A number with no file yet
Type the width and height in the calculator above. When you have the file, the same page can preview and export it.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the aspect ratio calculator?
The calculator is included, but this page is the crop studio. For width, height, and simplified ratios only, open the aspect ratio calculator.
Do I have to upload an image?
No. Width and height work before you open a file. Crop comparison, focus, safe zones, and export start after you choose an image. The file stays in your browser.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Image decoding, reframing, and export happen locally in your browser. The site does not receive your image file.
Which image formats can I use?
You can open JPG, PNG, and WebP images, then export JPG, PNG, or WebP files in supported browsers.
